About me:
For nearly two decades, my professional life has been broadly dedicated to one question: Why do people do what they do? As a cognitive psychologist and experimental researcher, I’ve spent my career in labs and classrooms dissecting the nuances of human decision-making, learning, and behavior. But recently, I found myself wanting to move beyond the theory of behavior and toward the application of it. I realized that the people I studied in my research are the same “users” who navigate complex digital products every day.
The Pivot: I’ve recently completed the Google UX Design Professional Certificate to translate my 19+ years of research rigor in psychological science to the world of user experience. While I am "new" to industry-standard design tools, I am a veteran in:
Deciphering user friction (I call it cognitive load)
A/B testing and usability studies (methodological design)
Key Performance Indicators and success metrics (dependent variables)
Actionable product insights (synthesizing complex data)
